This light-hearted non-fiction book explains what climate is, the history of the earth’s climate, what climate change is, how humans have caused climate change, its acceleration and how we can combat climate change. Its message is clear: everyone needs to act to prevent this from getting worse and, if the adults are not going to deal with this controversial issue, then it’s up to the kids.

The writer talks directly to the reader in a playful manner, asking rhetorical questions and constantly making jokes and puns. This makes this potentially serious topic enjoyable and interesting. The explanations are clear and concise, making this a good book to drop in and out of. The black and green cartoon illustrations keep the text easy to follow and maintain the fun and interesting tone of the book.

I would recommend this book as an addition to school libraries and support in geography and / or science lessons which look at the effects of climate change or renewable and non-renewable energy.
