Doing the right thing is always important and selfish behaviour should be discouraged. Picture books provide the perfect opportunity to have fun whilst encouraging discussion around these topics.
Cooper is a very responsible dog, looking after his owner, Martha, fetching her slippers in the morning, wiping his paws on the mat and keeping the house tidy. Martha thinks he is the perfect pet and Cooper is proud that she can trust him. But when Great Aunt Mildred takes Martha out for the day, she leaves her parrot Pandy in Cooper’s care. His name is short for Pandemonium, and that is just what ensues, as he throws a wild party, inviting all his lively animal friends, Poor Cooper tries his best to keep everything under control, but all Pandy can say is “Calm down, Cooper!” Will Martha still think he’s a perfect pet when she sees the mess?
Told in rollicking rhyme, with expressive, colourful pictures, this is a story to share, and will have young listeners laughing out loud.
