No one knows where Baby Elephant is but you can help find him hidden somewhere between the pages of this stunning interactive book.
As you travel through this simple but beautifully illustrated picture book, you meet a variety of animals and their young residing in several different habitats; both on land and in water.
This is not your usual ‘lift the flap’ book. Each page ingeniously folds out three times, each time revealing a different animal family, cleverly linked to the previous image. A lion’s mane is transformed into an orangutan’s soft fur and a bright green bird into a crocodile.
Children will love the interactive element to the book and guessing which animals might be found next. They will also be fascinated by the real names of the baby animals that are detailed at the start of the book, such as hoglet, kit, calf and hatchling.
Although this book has limited text, it can prompt many discussions around animals and their young, the similarities and differences between animals, their homes and habitats and also their special adaptations to their environment.
