The Extremely Inconvenient Adventures of Bronte Mettlestone is perfect for those who are looking for books with the main character and indeed most of the characters being strong females. It’s full of adventures, thrills and mystery.

Bronte Mettlestone is a typical 10 year old girl, who is living with her Aunt Isabelle and the Butler as her parents abandoned her as a baby on her aunt’s doorstep. One morning she receives a letter telling her that her parents have been killed by pirates. Her parents have left her a will that is a list of tasks that she must complete, all on her own, within a certain period of time. She must travel through the Empires and Kingdoms delivering gifts to all of her other aunts. As if that weren’t enough, the will itself is bound in Faery Cross Stitch, which means that she must follow it to the letter or her home town will be destroyed.

So begins an adventure of epic proportions for young Bronte. As she travels along delivering gifts and completing tasks, she discovers more about the parents that she never knew, including that her mother is the heir to the Whispering Kingdom. This book is full of twists and turns and includes a surprise ending.

This book was a fantastic read.
