The Little Seed is the first is a new series of stories based on the CBeebies animated show Moon and Me produced by Andy Davenport (creator of Teletubbies and In the Night Garden), which features a group of comic toy characters living together in a toy house. The magical toys come alive when nobody is looking and the series explores their gentle adventures and the warm friendships between characters.
The Little Seed is written as a bedtime read-aloud for young children and is fully illustrated by Mariko Umeda. This story introduces the characters when they wake up for an adventure and reveals the backstory of the special relationship between Moon Baby and Pepi Nana. Each night, Pepi Nana writes a letter to Moon Baby and this story soothingly explores how people from backgrounds that seem worlds apart can overcome differences and form a special bond.
Readers familiar with In the Night Garden (created by the same writer) will recognize the dream-like feel of the stories, which combines story with songs and rhymes, to give the book a real lullaby feel for bedtime.
