October is the time for celebrating libraries, books and reading, with Libraries Week and International School Libraries Month. As we all know books can open up endless possibilities for readers of all ages, feeding imaginations and transforming lives. The reader can be anything they want within the pages. And imagine what would happen if you showed a T-Rex a book! Whilst she just might try to eat it or wear it as a hat, if you teach her to read and then sneak her into the library, then she’ll want to borrow a lot of books. With so many to choose from she is going to learn all kinds of things and become very clever. The little girl at the centre of this delightful picture book is swept away thinking about all the possibilities and how life could change, just because she shared a book with a dinosaur.

This is a joyous celebration of the power of books and imagination, with colourful pictures full of humour and lively action. Books galore are scattered on every page, with lots of other details to spot. I’m sure young dinosaur fans will be able to name a number of those featured; it is good to have a female T-Rex as a lead character, doing something other than marauding after prey!
