One year ago, we launched a brand new partnership with ,Peters, to supply book packs to schools, including our popular 50 Recommended Reads for Each Year Group lists, diversity booklists and curriculum topic packs. For the first time, schools could now purchase full packs in one easy transaction.

Peters is the UK’s leading specialist supplier of children’s books to schools, libraries and academies, and their team is passionate about inspiring children and young people to read for pleasure.

The partnership has seen thousands of books from the BooksForTopics lists being shipped into classrooms, all packed and delivered by the experts at Peters. Peters offers a truly professional service to schools looking to order books – with benefits including school accounts, payment by invoice, 20% discount on the RRP of BooksForTopics packs and top-notch customer service. It’s no surprise that the team has been receiving happy messages and pictures from customers!

To mark the anniversary of the partnership, we have a special giveaway for you – keep reading to the end to find out more.

The team at Peters stopped by our blog today to tell you more about the first year of the partnership, to share some happy customer feedback and to launch a special one-year-on giveaway…

Guest Post – Celebrating One Year of Partnership

by Peters

It’s great to see that you love the BooksForTopics packs just as much as we do! Since launching our partnership with the book recommendation specialist in 2021, we’ve been touched by the positive messages we’ve received about the quality and impact of these time-saving book bundles. Perfect for teachers and librarians, they’re a firm favourite on our social media channels, which is why we’re thrilled to be giving you the chance to win some BooksForTopics books and goodies.

With a new National Literacy Trust (NLT) survey showing that one in five children between the ages of five and eight do not own a book of their own, it is more important than ever to ensure that children have access to informative, inspiring books. There are over 100 BooksForTopics packs to choose from, so there’s something for everyone, from reluctant readers to pupils eagerly awaiting the next new release.

Books are selected by BooksForTopics’ team of experts based on quality, classroom suitability, and whether they’re effective for encouraging pupils to read for pleasure. BooksForTopics have a panel of 50 reviewers from across the primary education community, so are able to try out new books in a variety of school settings before including them in their packs. This means that they are only recommending the most suitable books for your classrooms, which is fantastic for time-poor teachers who don’t get a chance to read all the titles themselves.

What kind of book packs can you choose from? To put it simply: all sorts! Immerse pupils in a world where monsters and mortals collide with the Ancient Greeks pack for Key Stage 2, or transport them back to prehistoric times with Stone Age to Iron Age. The Recommended Reads packs feature the best new titles to get pupils hooked on reading, while the Branching Out packs encourage readers to find new favourites after a particular author or series, including Harry Potter, Wimpy Kid and Rainbow Magic.

Amongst the packs, you’ll find poetry, graphic novels, junior fiction, picture books and more.

Here’s what you have to say!

It’s wonderful to see so many schools putting reading for pleasure at the heart of learning and displaying their new books centrally in their library or classroom. Here are just a few of the posts from across our Twitter and Instagram channels:
