Free CPD Opportunity: Reading For Pleasure Group

Six free CPD sessions to develop Reading for Pleasure in schools (Cambridgeshire Area)

You are invited by Kathryn Brereton (Cambs CC English Adviser) and Alison Leach (BooksForTopics) alongside the Open University and UKLA to join the new Teachers’

Reading for Pleasure Group for Cambridgeshire.

Over a series of six CPD sessions across the course of the year, we will explore the research and resources on the OU Research Rich Pedagogies website in order to support you to:

• Develop your Reading for Pleasure pedagogy

• Increase teachers’ knowledge of children’s literature in your school

• Understand the research about children’s reading practices

• Build reading communities within and beyond your school

The sessions will be free and are designed to be friendly, supportive and informal as we work together to share ideas and develop classroom practice.

We would love to encourage primary teachers (including NQTs), SLT, headteachers, support staff and librarians to join us for all six sessions.

Where: Lionel Walden Primary School, Doddington, Cambs, PE15 0TF

When: Thursday 6th December 4.15-5.30, followed by five other Thursday

twilight sessions across the school year (dates TBC).

Email us at [email protected] or use our contact form to book your free place!
