Book Synopsis

A warm and witty book about what makes a family – featuring fruit, veg and families of all shapes and sizes!

When little Pearl makes the startling discovery that she’s not a grape like the rest of the bunch, she begins to question EVERYTHING!

Can they really be her family if she doesn’t look like them?

An adventure around the house might just help her find the answer she’s looking for…

From the creator of Avocado Asks comes another brilliantly original exploration of identity, celebrating all family structures – including chosen families, blended families and adoptive families.

Our Review Panel says...

Pearl loves her large, loving grape family. One day, however, she learns that she is actually a pea. Convinced that being a family means everyone looks the same, she goes in search of her pea family. With the help of her friends, she learns the real meaning of family isn’t always about looks.

This story is perfect for showing the real meaning of family. With so many different types of families, this book is great. The illustrations are adorable and child-friendly.
