My Hippie Grandmother

Book Synopsis

For the girl in this poem, nothing is better than a day with her hippie grandmother – eating wheat-and-honey bread, working in the garden, selling veggies at the farmer’s market and picketing the town hall. But the very best part of being together is the love they share. Flower power forever!

Our Review Panel says...

I loved this rhyming book which is a reminder that not all grandmothers have the traditional grey hair and old fashioned clothes. The grandmother here wears vibrant, tie-dyed clothes and has a guitar-strumming boyfriend. She also has a wonderful bond with her granddaughter.
