This is an amazing non-fiction book for anyone who is a fan of minibeasts.
There is an introduction that explains the importance of different bugs and how they help to keep ecosystems healthy. The book is divided into different categories such as ‘Masters of Disguise’, ‘Daring Defence’ and others. There is then a selection of bugs that match that title. There are many bugs described in this book that the children will never have heard of before!
The book is full of fascinating facts about the different bugs. The book contains lots of science-specific vocabulary and offers a good challenge for fact-loving readers in KS1 or lower KS2. There is a clear glossary to help with some of the language used. The images bring the facts to life, and there are small sections of text which make it easier to manage.
A highly recommendable non-fiction book choice for children!
