Rhian Wright Books

I found this to be a really touching read. Knowing Fatima Whitbread is an Olympian makes it even more interesting, but the story stands on its own.

The story draws heavily on the author’s real-life experience of growing up in the care system. It deals with themes of abandonment, emotional neglect, and the feeling of not having a “real” family. It is handled gently and is ultimately very uplifting.

It’s all about finding inner strength and hope, even when life has given you a really tough start. It’s written in a very accessible way, so it’s easy for younger readers to digest, but it definitely pulls at the heartstrings. A lovely book about resilience.
