Can a heroic knight defeat the Terrible Tab before she decimates the mouse population of Raven Castle? Support severely struggling readers with this exciting hi-lo adventure.

Sir Tristan and his cat Terrible Tab have decimated the mouse population of Raven Castle. Can the last survivors defeat the ferocious feline with the help of some homemade armour and a heroic mouse knight?

Particularly suitable for readers aged 7+ with a reading age of 6.

This would be great for LKS2 readers who are beginning to venture into longer chapter books – it’s easily accessible and the story line isn’t too complicated to confuse readers and the illustrations throughout are appealing. I think many readers would relate to the theme of friendship throughout and the book allows for important conversations about looking after the earth and the impact pollution can have on nature. Readers can really sense chef-turned-children’s-author Jamie Oliver’s enthusiasm for all things food – in particular, the descriptions of the food are detailed and appetising!

Soon moonshine magic has shrunk Patrick too, and he is forced to hole up inside his toy castle as the knight attacks the ‘fire worm’. Can Patrick defeat the knight and make it to morning? High quality cream paper and a special easy to read font ensure a smooth read for all.
