Luogo comune Books

This transport-themed non-fiction book offers a comprehensive journey through different types of boats and ships, from coracles to cruise ships, from ancient to modern and with origins all around the world. The book also covers many different uses of boats, including their role in migration, both past and present.

The illustrations are clear, colourful and include labels. The text is limited to one or two paragraphs for each double-page spread, with the illustrations communicating most of the information and doing so very effectively. This makes it a very accessible information book. The book will appeal to KS1 children with an interest in the topic and is a reference book to return to.
