Hafsa has enjoyed the special month of Ramadan with her family and is looking forward to celebrating Eid-al-Fitr with her family. They see the new moon in the sky, say special prayers to end Ramadan and prepare many delicious dishes. Hafsa’s favourite is halwa, but she is disappointed when her father gives this away to their neighbour.
The book explores themes of sharing and how small acts of kindness can create ripples that can be felt far and wide. At the end of the book, there are craft ideas and a recipe to create Hafsa’s beloved halwa.
This is a fantastic ‘I see me’ text or a super introduction to the month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr; the book is beautifully illustrated and sensitively celebrates diversity within Islam.
